On Feb. 10, Free Beacon columnist Bill Gertz said that US arms sales to Taiwan would result to China supporting Hawaiian independence movement.
A Pentagon official Michael Pillsbury said that he had talks with 35 Chinese generals in the past years and he said that some of them told him that China is ready to provide arms to Hawaiian separatists.
China sees Hawaiian separation from the United States as a national interest if the separation would lead to withdrawal of American air and naval bases from the islands.
Leon Siu, a Hawaiian-born independence activist has been working with international organization as well as international legal institutions on gaining recognition of Hawaii as a sovereign country.
