According to Hong Kong-based Ta Kung Pao, in the early morning of January 26, small made-in-China drone was found crashed on the compound of the White House.
Although the drone was only a recreation-purpose UAV that did not pose a threat, the idea of Chinese drone in the residence and office of the American President is very sensitive.
The said drone is a quad-copter type and not dangerous, according to The White House spokesman Nicole Mainor. The drone is 2 feet in length and reportedly low flying when spotted at 3:08 A.M. just before entering the compound. The device is likely to be a DJI Phantom made by SZ DJI Technology.
The President and First Lady Obama were in India when the incident happened while their children were under the care of the First Lady's mother.
