MOSCOW AND BEIJING AGREED TO BUILD TRANSPORT HELICOPTER

Russia and China came into a partnership which the two countries are going to develop a heavy transport helicopter that capable of high-altitude flights, according to Military-Industrial Courier.

China plans to develop a model that is lighter than Mi-26 because the plan is build a transport helicopter that is able to operate in elevated areas like mountains. The engine that will be attached to the helicopter is the Russian-built D-136 engine. The helicopter is also expected to be lighter than Mi-26 to give better thrust.

Russian Deputy Premier Dmitriy Rogozin said that in 2014, Russia and China came into an agreement that the project helicopter should have a maximum take-off weight of 38 tons. The helicopter will be built in China while the materials will come from Russia.
