DF-21 BALLISTIC MISSILES DEPLOYED IN CHANGBAI: INTERNATIONAL HERALD

According to a report by International Herald Leader, PLA's DF-21 ballistic missiles have been deployed in the mountains of Changbai, part of the Northeastern region of the country. The deployment aims as deterrent against neighboring countries of Japan and Taiwan.

According to several online news blogs, experts and analysts suspect that DF-21s are already deployed in Changbai mountains and in launch position located in the borders of North Korea and China.

Experts added that the Changbai mountains is the only suitable place for the deployment of DF-21s because from its position in the said mountains it can reach all the possible major targets in case conflicts with Taiwan and Japan happened.

According to a piece of Want China Times, US Central Intelligence Agency estimates that 50-100 DF-21 missiles are in PLA's arsenal. The agency reports suggest that DF-21s have ranges between 1,450-2,150 kilometers.
