On January 28 Taiwan Air Force demonstrated its P-3C anti-submarine aircraft to the public. ROC is taking deliveries of P-3Cs and eight of the said P-3Cs has already been delivered since September 2013. Four more are expected to be delivered this year to complete the 12 P-3Cs deal.

The held drill involved takeoff and low altitute demonstration by 439th Combined Wing which is deployed at Pingtung base. Also held that day was the Air Force ground crew's demonstration of arming the aircraft with torpedoes.

Taiwan has been operating S-2T anti-submarine aircraft for more than 40 years and ROC is replacing them with P-3Cs because S-2T are now obsolete and can no longer be effective against more sophisticated submarines these days.

ROC also displayed its C-130 planes that day.
