Want China Daily-According to Want China Daily, the AFT-9A also known as Hongjian-9 is an anti-tank vehicle with missile launcher and is capable of destroying all tanks and APCs that are currently in service around the world.
This anti-tank vehicle of PLA is designed by China North Industries Corporation. They also claim that AFT-9A can penetrate a 1,200mm armor plates with its laser guided missile. Its missile can also be fitted with other kinds of warheads like high-explosive or thermal effect depending on AFT-9A's mission. The missile range is said to reach 5,000 meters at its maximum.
An anonymous defense expert told China National Radio, a state-run broadcast station that PLA has another tank-killer named HJ-12 which is also deadly like Hongjian-9. The said vehicle runs using a fire-and-forget capability system which does not have to be guided after firing. The expert also said that HJ-12 is deadly because it hits the top of tanks's turrets which is believed to be vulnerable part of a tank. Also, HJ-12 can destroy low flying helicopters and aircrafts.
