CH-3 ARMED DRONE CRASHED IN NIGERIA

A CH-3 UAV on flight captured from an internet video.

Recently in a report by AFP Modernization Update Blog, a Chinese drone was found crashed in the lawn of the White House. On Jan.27, Nigerian Media reported that a made-in-China drone armed with bomb and missile crashed in Northeastern Borno state, a sign of Chinese drone's involvement in battles.

The Chinese drone CH-3 used by Nigeria to fight against the Boko Harem terror group crashed 30 kilometers northeast of Maiduguri, the capital city of Borno.

The drone is linked to Nigerian Military operation that killed 53 members of Boko Haram terror group 2 days before the  armed UAV was found crashed.

Photos of the crashed drone that leaked in the internet suggest that the drone was carrying 100kg YC-200 satellite-guided bomb and AR-1 missile manufactured by China Aerospace Science and Technology Corporation. There is speculation that the drone was not made in China since Pakistan made copies of the CH-3 UAV design.

CH-3 was not the only UAV purchased by Nigeria but also the M-28 UAV helicopter and Honey Bee 28, according to a Nigerian news blog in its report on January 2.
