According to the website of China Communist Party's People's Daily, Chinese Foreign Minister Hong Lei insisted that China did not steal American F-35 stealth fighter system technology.
In a press conference held on January 19, Hong said the assertion against China about the stolen F-35 technology thru Australia was made without proof. The assertion came from ex-US National Security Agency employee turned whistleblower, Edward Snowden. According to Yang Xiyu of China Institute of International Studies, although Snowden leaked US files accusing China of stealing documents related to F-35 in Australia, Australia did not have any classified information related to F-35 development.
Yang defending China said that attacking China has become a routine for western media. He also said that US has launched cyber attacks against China but Western media never broadcast it.
