Broadcaster CCTV reports that a made-in-China Changze Z-18 transport helicopter  have malfunctioned during a test flight in Mount Everest at a height of 9,000 meters above sea level.

In a video showed on Saturday, a warning signal triggered by the Z-18's pilot when it reached the altitude of 8,900 meters continuing to elevate at 9,000 meters and able to fly over the tallest mountain although the helicopter had trouble.

China claimed that the flight has been successful and believed they now have the ability to build huge transport helicopters that can effectively work on high grounds.

The said transport helicopter is built by China-based Changhe Aircraft Industries Corporation. Z-18 is claimed to be China's new helicopter that the PLA can use in elevated and high ground areas second to its Sikorsky S-70.
